President’s Note
As we think back on 2014, we are pleased and proud to be one of the few remaining community banks in Boston, celebrating our 100th anniversary this past year. As so many of our neighboring institutions continue the trend of merging or being acquired, our new Roslindale branch recently celebrated its first full year of operation.
We are thriving and continue to grow due to your support. Meetinghouse Bank focuses on providing exemplary customer service while offering deposit and loan products at attractive rates.
We serve needs of both the individual customer and small business. We emphasize personal attention, which enables us to determine the best fit of products and services for each customer. Meetinghouse Bank continually strives to add the newest technology to enhance your banking experience. The Bank’s staff worked hard in 2014 to implement paperless e-statements and the ability to deposit checks from your mobile device.
We are pleased to have seen loans and assets increase during 2014. By maintaining sensible lending standards, we wrote loans more affordable to all of our borrowers. The bank continues to be a dependable and competitive provider, closing in excess of $100 million of home mortgage loans in 2014.
Management and the Board of Directors are always exploring additional branch opportunities that will offer the potential to enhance our banking franchise and further promote our business plan.
We have both FDIC and SIF insurance, which means your deposits are insured in full, including account balances over $250,000.
Our commitment extends beyond our customers and into the communities that we proudly serve. Meetinghouse Bank and our employees are involved in numerous local endeavors that improve the neighborhood in which we work and live. Once again we co-sponsored the Vargas and Vargas Boston’s Best Neighbor and also were one of many sponsors supporting the Dot Park Family Picnic and Antique Auto Show. We are proud to co-sponsor Roslindale Green & Clean. Our employees actively participate in the Holiday Stroll, the Neighborhood Cleanup and the Annual Food Drive. The bank’s staff is active in the Roslindale Board of Trade, Saint Marks Main Street, and one of our staff members is the President of the Washington Street Business Association. The generosity of many merchants, customers and vendors allowed us to help over 20 families have a great holiday again this year. I am also very proud to serve as President of the LMMA, a wonderful organization of dedicated merchants and service providers in our community.
