Meetinghouse Bank Celebrates 100th Anniversary in 2014

Meetinghouse Bank was excited to kick off celebrating our 100th year as your local community bank with a small celebration with community leaders, customers, and staff. Thank you to all our past, present and future customers!

Meetinghouse Bank Opens its doors to the Roslindale Community with the opening of our second branch in May 2013!

We had a great first few days at our new location in Roslindale Square! Emily, pictured here, is a balloon animal artist that came to spend some time with us! The kids loved her and she was fantastic with what she does! The Bank also had a face painting artist, and coffee and pastries to help introduce ourselves to the community!

Elizabeth Seton Academy Car Wash at Meetinghouse Bank 2013

Meetinghouse Bank was pleased to sponsor a car wash for the Elizabeth Seton Academy (ESA) softball team. ESA is the only girls’ high school in Boston. They raised over $450! Great job!

Meetinghouse Bank and Vargas & Vargas Insurance challenged one another to a charity softball game on Monday May 20th in Dot Park.

Roslindale’s Night Out at Adams Park

Meetinghouse Bank attended Roslindale’s Night Out at Adams Park on Tuesday, Aug. 20. 2013. The night is designed to: heighten crime prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anti–crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police–community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The Event featured music, entertainment, martial arts demonstrations, and multiple other presentations.

Antique Car Show and Family Picnic in Dorchester Park 2013

This second–annual event promoted the historic Dorchester Park with an all–around fun family day. There was an antique car show from 10am – 2pm and a family picnic from 12pm – 4pm. Any left over proceeds are donated to make future improvements to the park.

The event took place in the backyard of Roslindale Village Main Street president, Steve Gag, and featured Zili Misik! It was a great chance to enjoy a nice cold beverage while schmoozing with friends and neighbors and dancing to Boston’s hottest world music band.

Boston’s Best Neighbor Award Ceremony

Meetinghouse Bank was pleased to attend the ceremony for Boston’s Best Neighbor Award on Thursday, September 26th at The Fairmount Grille. There were three winners from Hyde Park: Martha McDonough, Barbara Baxter, and Rita Walsh who coordinated the Neponset River clean up the past two years.

The Boston’s Best Neighbor Award was originated by Carlos Vargas, president of Vargas & Vargas Insurance Agency. As Vargas describes, “The purpose of the award is to honor an individual or individuals who has demonstrated special care, concern, and volunteer hours to make their neighborhood a safer, more pleasant, and more friendly community for all of the residents. This individual may have made contributions to other neighborhoods, projects, or citywide concerns.”

Meetinghouse Bank was honored to be one of many local businesses sponsoring the 2013 Boston’s Best Neighbor Award.

The toys go to the area C Police station for their annual party for kids. The Bank is pleased to have donated for 6 consecutive years!

Officer Timothy Golden, the Community Liaison Officer working out of Area C of the Boston Police, came to Meetinghouse Bank to get toys donated by the Lower Mills Merchants Association, Dorchester and Milton, MA, Vargas & Vargas Insurance Agency, and Meetinghouse Bank staff.

Thanks to the generosity of local merchants, customers, and Bank staff, Meetinghouse Bank is able to donate all these items to local families in need! Non-perishables have been collected at the Bank as well as Vargas & Vargas Insurance Agency, and Chris Orozzo, owner of Milton Hill Sport & Spa, ran a Holiday Workout Class where participants could donate in lieu of payment.

The 2013 Holiday Stroll Was a huge success! Meetinghouse Bank had a Hot Chocolate station as well as a balloon elf! Meetinghouse Bank also opened its doors to Gabrielle Evangelista, of Boston Vet to Vet, for a raffle table where benefits went to support local veterans. Elizabeth Seton also set up a table inside the Bank with special guest Santa Claus!

Meetinghouse Bank Holds Home Buying Seminar

Meetinghouse was pleased to offer a Home Buying Seminar, in partnership with Camber Real Estate! It was held at the Tabernacle of Praise Church in Randolph and the turnout was great! A big thank you to President of Camber Real Estate Tony Camarra and realtor Suzette Clinton of Camber Real Estate for joining Meetinghouse Bank’s Steve Borgerson and Suzan Khan for this great event!

Meetinghouse Bank Strives to Support Local Family Struck by a Tragic Fire

Meetinghouse Bank, Vargas & Vargas Insurance Agency, State Rep. Linda Dorcena-Forry and several local businesses, joined force in the Lower Mills area of Dorchester to come together to support several families who lost everything to a five-alarm fire in August. School supplies, cash donations and more are being accepted at Meetinghouse Bank. We continue to work hard for the community we work and live in! “Lower Mills is just a great community, great people,” Bank President Anthony Paciulli said. “They’re small gestures, but I hope they’re gestures that help you and make you feel a little bit better in your time of need.”

Anthony Paciulli Receives Community Impact Award

The Elizabeth Seton Academy Community Impact Award is given to individuals in the Boston area who have demonstrated a noteworthy impact in our community and whom are not typically highlighted. ESA volunteers, Advancement Committee members and the School principal select the recipient. The 2010 award was presented at the ESA Spring event to Anthony Paciulli, President of Meetinghouse Bank.

“I was pleased and proud to be selected for such an award and take great pride in being actively involved in the Dorchester Community,” said Mr. Paciulli.

Meetinghouse Bank President named “Merchant of the Year.”

The Lower Mills Merchant Association (LMMA) has named Meetinghouse Bank president Anthony Paciulli their 2010 “Merchant of the Year.” The LMMA gives this award to an area merchant who not only contributes to the Lower Mills area quality of life, but who also has earned the respect of their peers, achieved success in business and contributes to the community. Mr. Paciulli was chosen as the first recipient of this award because of both his active participation in local endeavors and for Meetinghouse Bank’s involvement in the area.

Carlos was proud to recognize Larry for his hard work in the Community and successful efforts making our LMMA website a success. Anthony Paciulli thanked Larry for his efforts on Holiday Stroll Committee as well as raising awareness of the Merchant’s association. Larry is thrilled and proud to be a part of such a vibrant and productive association.

Meetinghouse Bank is Dorchester Historical Society’s “Save Our Barn” Sponsor

The Dorchester Historical Society has identified the Clapp Family Barn as a priority for preservation, as it is an unmatched resource for the study of Dorchester’s agricultural past. Meetinghouse Bank helped sponsor their “Save Our Barn” Gala Fundraiser, which generated donations enabling the DHS to begin restoring the Clapp Barn to its former condition.

Anthony Paciulli Speaks at Pierce Middle School Annual Career Day

Anthony Paciulli, president of Meetinghouse Bank, was one of the speakers at the Pierce Middle School Annual Career Day.

Mr. Paciulli spoke to the children about careers in banking and the different areas within the field. He explained to them what they would need to know and how important good work habits were to be successful. This was Mr. Paciulli’s second year as a speaker.

Meetinghouse Bank partners with the Treasurer’s Office to Support Small Business Lending

December 2011: In December Meetinghouse Bank signed an agreement to become a part of the State Treasurer’s Office Small Business Banking Partnership. The agreement creates a partnership with the Treasurer’s office and Meetinghouse Bank to provide loans to Small Businesses. In accepting State funds placed on deposit in the bank, Meetinghouse agreed to use the funds to promote its small business lending activities.

The bank has committed to lending these funds to local businesses to help create jobs. The bank already has its first loan already in process and is looking forward to its closing at the end of the month. The loan is to a local businessman who will be building and opening a restaurant in Boston, creating a number of short term construction jobs, and approximately 15 permanent jobs.

“As a local Community Bank we are excited about this partnership and the opportunity to support local small businesses and help create some needed jobs” Commented the banks President and CEO, Anthony A. Paciulli.
